Our Services
Housing
Twenty one-bedroom apartments for eligible students. Rent is calculated on a sliding scale at 30% of income plus utilities. Students can remain on property until they graduate high school, or until age 21 if continuing into higher education.
Mentors and Tutoring
Mentors are caring adults who help students navigate school and life decisions. Tutors are subject-area volunteers available to help one-on-one. Great pairings often last well beyond graduation.
Student Pantry
A pantry stocked with food, toiletries, and household items is available to all students in the Student Center.
School Assistance
Our partnership with Norman and Moore Public Schools allows us to monitor attendance and grades and provide school supplies, tutoring, and sports or extracurricular supplies at no charge. Bridges also covers the cost of ACT and SAT testing.
Life Skills
Weekly classes during the school year covering topics like cooking, resume writing, scholarship applications, leadership, networking, self-defense, and job interviews. Community business leaders frequently lead sessions, and a meal is provided afterward.
Student Center
A community space with a big screen TV with cable, pool table, and common areas for students to relax and connect.
Employment Program
Local businesses partner with Bridges to host students for internships, career training, and job exposure. Many students go on to be hired permanently by the same businesses they trained with.
Social Services
Bridges assists students with clothing, shoes, and school supplies, as well as medical, dental, and vision appointments, prescription medications, eyeglasses, and emergency needs including gift cards and no-interest loans.
Laundry Room
Free on-site laundry with two large washers and two large dryers available to all residents.
All of our services available, free of charge, to students who qualify. We want to make sure nothing stands between a student and their diploma.
